A candle-maker sought to open a boutique shop that redefined the experience of purchasing candles. Candles create sensory experiences through light and scent, and we were challenged to create a brand that could maximize those experiences not only in store, but also digitally, where scent must be explained rather than experienced in person.
We dove into the history of illumination and drew upon our experience with high-end consumer retail branding to name and brand the shop. The name references the eulachon, or candle fish, an early tool of illumination. We worked closely with the client to help develop the entire experience of the brand, extending the brand identity through the store experience in person and online, designing, developing, and producing a wide range of brand collateral.
