Fuzzco’s Polar Bear Bag makes an appearance on Noah Kalina’s Eco Bag Tree.
Once upon a time there lived Helen, Josh and Mason. They lived happily in their mansion by the spring, taking pleasure in bird watching and building sandcastles. They enjoyed each other’s company and became quite accustomed to tasting bubbly wines together over evenings of story-telling.

Life was idyllic until one fateful day. On Helen’s way to feed peonies to baby lambs, Fuzzco’s trusted steed, Prius, took a tumble down the mountain.

Not too far from Helen, Mason was having his own adventure. All of the bubbly from the night before gave Mason enormous amounts of energy. He felt like a giant with a giant heart and giant lungs. He needed to make a lot of notes that day for a project he was working on but he didn’t have a big enough pencil so he had to draw one.

He put the huge pencil in his pocket and sat down on the grass with a delicious cup of coffee. Little did he know the pencil was so big and heavy that the earth below him was sinking.

Josh was back at the Mansion enjoying a phone call and relishing in his new shirt designed by Helen for Redux.

All of a sudden some tiny seedlings gathered around the back of the house.

The seedlings looked friendly but in fact had evil plans for Josh. With Helen and Mason distracted in their own debacles they had Josh all to themselves. They slowly started building a wall so that Josh would never be able to escape.

Lucky for Fuzzco they had some great friends who upon hearing about the evil seedlings decided to get married (because when you get married you get extra powers). With their new special powers they flew over to the house to break down the walls and free Josh.

Josh, Mason and Helen were all freed from the curse of the seedlings and they were so happy that they decided to join Spoleto Scene.

And so the fourth month of the year two-thousand and tenth year came to a close.

Thanks to everyone who attended Helen’s art show last night at Hope and Union. Thanks especially to Jeffery Rhodes of Margo Kaufman Gallery, Harper and John of Hope and Union and Jessica and Billy, makers of strong coffee drinks and havers of smiles for putting together such a nice night. Helen’s show nearly sold out with only 3 pieces of ten remaining. If you didn’t make it last night feel free to stop by Hope and Union as the show will be up for two weeks. A portion of proceeds benefits the Spoleto Festival USA.

Thanks to the City Paper for covering the show. One more huge thanks to David Rice (Helen’s pa) for building all of the awesome frames (check out the triangle ones!!).
Read her whole interview:
1.From where do you draw the inspiration for your art?
I tend to get obsessed with things- there’s a lot of repetition in my work- i find a lot of inspiration online, i work a lot and i’m on the computer all the time. i’ve started collecting images of stuff stuck to walls. Stuff like paper and ribbon and cat hair and drawings and torn things. That’s been my inspiration for a while.
2.People recognize you as a successful designer but don’t know you well as an artist. What’s it like for you having a bit of a hidden side with your artwork?
That’s nice, um, I guess I don’t like talking too much about my art. I tend to start making things up on the spot and it can be dangerous- but I’ve always made art. It inspires my design aesthetic and it’s a relief to do something that I have complete control over. It’s also a great way to spend time.
3.What style would you say your art is? Why do you choose to use that style?
There is definitely an attempt to make art that is vague. I try to stop before it’s too late. I prefer squares to circles most of the time. I like things to look empty sometimes. I like messy things. I have no idea what style that all adds up to.
4.What are your feelings going into the show?
I’m really nervous- what if no one shows up- i will have to drink all of the champagne.
5.What do you think people should be most excited about seeing?
I drew a mouse on one of my pieces. It will be hard to find. That should be exciting.

A few months back, this place some houses up Kracke street, took a scolding hot flame bath. It was the work of Mr Arson for sure. Josh and Helen saw it, and FELT IT, from the comfort of the Fuzzco piazza. The next morning, a frenzy of flies could be seen feasting on the nutrient rich/water soaked sooty soot. Months passed and nothing happened until just recently, a demo crew was paid an exorbitant amount of dollar bills to make the house disappear. This consisted of two men, one in control of a giant mechanical spork made by Volvo and the other standing with hazard cones. I am pretty sure this fellow was in control of the other fellow. We watched the smooth operators work from the comfort of our office moccasins. A memorable part for me, came when the spork tore into an upstairs bedroom and out popped a torrential downpour of teddy bears. Take a close look at the 4th picture down. You can just make out a Winnie, the Pooh, The bear. Before long the house was reduced to a pile of rubble and teddy bears. For the next few days, on top of everything, the triumphant Volvo danced a victory dance. Now, it is nothing but an empty lot with a large dirty utensil.

This video is not boring at all! and somehow it makes us want to bathe in cheese.
The heaters of Fuzzco.
Heater 1: Sometimes this one makes the power go out.
Heater 2: This heater is great- it makes the room pop tart toasty in 5 minutes. You can get them at the hardware store on Easy Bay Street by the vegetable bin. (We’ll be there this week to get ours- this one is on loan from Bob Hines- thanks Bob!)
Between July 1 and October 30, Google users found our Fuzzco listing 966 times and requested driving information or other info about us 78 times! Google gave us this huge decal and if we put it up in our window people can scan the barcode with their camera phones which will enable them to see our business listing on Google, read and write reviews, and add us as a favorite. Pretty cool huh?
